Need Your Opinion on The Next Move
Hey,
Last week we had to choose a logo for this newsletter. These are the results without my vote.
I voted C as well. (check the top of this email for the logo)
Equal Opportunity
Some people assume I do this for money, so it’s about time we clear that up.
To date, Equal Opportunity (EO) has netted a -£5800 loss. (as in losing money)
And we’re about to spend some more.
Here’s my plan (and I need your opinion on it)
There are many companies out there helping students. Some can join them and then they provide some training to some people.
But:
If they are free → they segregate based on ethnicity and other factors.
If they cost money → they segregate based on affordability.
It follows that all of them lack one major thing → they cannot deliver for most people.
Therefore, we need to fill that gap by turning EO into an educational platform.
Here’s how it will work:
Law enthusiast joins platform.
Completes education.
Becomes more employable and ready to apply for training contracts.
I don’t want to wait until this is a perfect product, so it will likely be released in stages.
Text + some video course initially.
More expert videos added.
Making it interactive via text AI. (so it can answer text questions)
Making it interactive via video AI (so it can fully tutor via video)
Once we have a working formula for this, we can expand towards other careers.
You might’ve noticed, and probably think I’m crazy, that money is not part of the equation.
Charging students would go against the mission and the name — Equal Opportunity.
Plus it wouldn’t make financial sense. Assuming a £20/m membership, 100 people would only bring in £2,000/m.
That would not work.
Somewhere along the version improvements(see above)we will add sponsored content from law firms.
I’m welcome to any ideas that do not include charging students, so please reply if you can think of anything.
By the way, as of a few minutes ago, Equal Opportunity is a registered company limited by shares. (the charity will be registered soon)
Talk Friday,
George
